Taiwan 'may open parliament to Chinese tourists'

The first batch of about 110 solo Chinese visitors is due to arrive in Taiwan in the coming week after the island lifted a decades-old ban on such travel, said the United Daily News. Chinese visitors would be able to see how Taiwan's democracy operates and spread the word on the mainland, which could lead to improved ties, the report quoted parliamentary speaker Wang Jin Pyng as saying.
