Can we not? In Singapore?? Should parents subject children to esteem-wrecking comparisons?

"Thou shalt not compare" should be one of the commandments of having children. And some of us parents really don't want to contrast Ah Boy with Boy Boy - because it might make the nippers go off the rails and take drugs at age 10. (Experts disagree on the extent of the psychological damage.) In the case of young children, parents' comparisons can hide behind the virtuous concern represented by developmental milestones.
