Are Foreign beggers getting rich off Singaporeans?

A Chinese netizen has exposed an alleged beggar syndicate operating in Singapore. According to a blogger, "LonelyKitten", these foreigners from China come to Singapore on social visit passes, but spend their time begging on the streets. In his blog entry accompanied by pictures of disabled men begging on the street, the blogger says he has observed one beggar who managed to pocket at least $500 in one morning. The beggar then stuffed the money into a black suitcase. The blogger, who is a Chinese citizen residing in Singapore, alleged that these beggars are actually part of a syndicate that will drop them off at various locations in the morning, before picking them up again in the afternoon. Thereafter, they would retreat to their hotel rooms to count their 'loot'. He commented that if the 'beggars' were to stay here for the full duration that their social visit pass allows...
