MANILA : Businesses in the Philippines have given a passing grade to President Benigno Aquino's first year in office. But they said he needs to do more to lift the country's economy. As President Aquino marks his first year in office, business groups in the Philippines have praised his anti-corruption efforts. But they are expecting more from his second year, particularly on the implementation of key infrastructure projects. Businesses believe that contributed to the slowdown in the country's economic growth, which fell to 4.9 per cent in the first quarter.
