EU signs a free-trade agreement with Singapore

Singapore exchange market The European Union and Singapore have clinched a free-trade agreement. The plan is to initial the deal in early 2013. This is the second free trade agreement between the European Union and a major Asian trading partner. The European Commission said the deal, not yet signed by politicians, will help European Union exports of cars and financial services to Asian markets. An European Union-South Korean free-trade agreement has been in operation since July 2011. Singapore is the second largest Asian investor in the European Union after Japan . Last year the European Union-Singapore trade was worth about 7,400 million Euros. Also, the European Union is Singapore’s second biggest trade partner after neighboring Malaysia.
