Delhi gang-rape survivor reaches Singapore, a billion prayers with her

The 23-year-old medical student, who has been fighting for her life in a Delhi hospital since she was raped by six men on a moving bus earlier this month, has reached Singapore for medical treatment. Her parents are travelling with her doctors on a highly-advanced air ambulance which also has ICU facilities. The government had organised visas and passports for the patient and her family earlier on Wednesday. Sources say the hope is to arrange an organ transplant for her in Singapore, where she has been admitted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Large parts of her intestines were removed as a result of the injuries from the monstrous attack she endured. The student has been the focus of India's attention and prayers for several days.
