Johor Bahru train station site (linking Singapore and Malaysia) identified

Plans for the proposed Rapid Transit System (RTS) that will connect Johor Bahru and Singapore are still under discussion, according to Iskandar Region Transportation Corp Chairman Datuk Abdul Latiff Bandi. Once the government of Singapore and Malaysia have reached an agreement, both parties will jointly announce the details of the project. At present, the state government of Johor has identified the site of the RTS station in JB. However, it is premature to announce since it is the prerogative of the federal government, he said. “This issue is the prerogative of the two governments, and we at the state level will give our full cooperation to the project.” “There is a one-year time frame to study the project, and whatever decision made by Malaysia and Singapore would benefit both countries,” noted Abdul Latiff, who is also in charge of the Housing and Local Government execu...
