For instance, 81 percent of seniors prefer to age-in-place, citing reasons such as the comfort of their present flat, emotional attachment and the opportunity to leave the property to their children. The study also found that 19.1 percent were living with their married children in 2013, while 88.6 percent received visits or visited their married children at least once a month. Writing on his blog, National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said: “We will work harder to cater to such needs.
