Chinese home-buyers may not spend very often in Singapore, but when they do, they spend big. Bloomberg News The U.S. may be the most popular destination for Chinese buyers eyeing homes abroad, but Chinese property shoppers typically spend a lot more on homes in Singapore, France, Portugal, the U.K. and Canada, according to data from a real estate information portal. Despite a steady stream of headlines about one or another Chinese tycoon paying millions for an apartment overlooking Manhattan’s Central Park, the U.S. ranks only 7th out of 10 countries in terms of average prices of homes these buyers are eyeing.
