British man fined for untidy home #PR

A British homeowner has been fined £2,000 (around S$3,900) by his local council after failing the upkeep of his property (pictured ). Neighbours of Philip Gunwhy in the English city of Worcester started to make complaints in 2008 when his property started to look like a “building site”. Windows in the house had been boarded up, large sections of the house’s rendering was missing and scaffolding and tarpaulin often obscured the front of the house. Gunwhy was originally issued with a £1,100 (S$2,148) fine in March this year, but after failing to make any improvements, local planning officers issued an official 'Tidy-Up Notice' because the house was reportedly starting to adversely affect amenities in the area. Last month Gunwhy was issued with a further £2,000 fine and also ordered to pay £515 (around S$1,000) in costs.
