Red Dot Ventures #invests S$589K into Pirate3DP to bring #3D printing to the mass market

Singapore based technology incubator Red Dot Ventures has just announced that they have invested S$589,000 (approximately US$482,000) in Pirate3DP, a Singapore-based startup developing the most affordable and user-friendly 3D printer for the mass consumer market. Founded by fresh graduates Roger Chang, Brendan Goh, and Tsang You Jun – and a serial technopreneur, A/Prof (Adjunct) Neo Kok Beng of the National University of Singapore, Pirate3DP designs and builds 3D printers, a device that produces tangible, solid objects from digital files. For those whom are unfamiliar with 3D printing, what it does is that it transmutes a digital file into a real, tangible object – what were once bits and bytes can now be held in the palm of your hand.
