@CityNomads – An Upmarket Groupon Clone

I took this off my own post on Quora since I feel it helps to describe a few possible ways competitors can differentiate themselves from Groupon. (I prefer not to call them clones just because Groupon came first. It will almost be like calling Google an Alta Vista or Infoseek clone.) It is interesting to note that City Nomads has taken the high-end route. 1) Low-cost model - With the incredible margins that Groupon is making on its revenue, it is almost inevitable it will be attack from low-end competitors who are willing to take a smaller share of the pie, making it more attractive for small businesses to work with them.
