Google to hire around 100 in Southeast Asia August 25, 2011 by Terence LEE Following the announcement that Google will be opening a new office in Bangkok, Julian Persaud, the managing director for Google in Southeast Asia, has told Dow Jones in an interview that they will be hiring around 100 new staff in Southeast Asia, and 500 in Asia. Persaud also said that Southeast Asia is currently the fastest growing market for the search giant. A major growth opportunity for them is helping to bring businesses online, perhaps through services like Google Docs. “Southeast Asia is coming into prominence but not much of content about the region is available on the Internet. With over 120 million people online in the region, we are particularly excited about growth in the region,” said Persaud.
