Sony releases the first backup SD card in the world, available in Singapore from mid-September

Introducing the first-ever memory card that automatically performs real-time backup copies of files for Windows-based PCs and notebooks, preventing loss of data if the computer crashes. Available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB at $42.09,$69.90 and $129.90 respectively, it comes with the Sony proprietary “Real-time Backup Utility” software that allows encryption as well. Promising to automatically detect pre-designated files on your desktop or laptop and update it in real-time thus ensuring that the files in your SD card are the most recent versions, Sony has released a free trial of the software that works with any SD card for 30 days.
