Sold.sg secures around S$1M in funding, expands to Malaysia November 16, 2011 by Terence LEE Sold.sg , a Singapore-based auction website, has secured a first round funding of almost S$1M (US$0.77M) after operating for just over a year. The funding source is not disclosed. With over 40,000 members in Singapore, the site is now seeking to grow regionally. They’ve just launched Sold.my , their first overseas venture. Since launching in July 2010, Sold.sg has grown the number of products it has by four times, and now features 20 to 25 products daily, the press release mentioned. It also claims that Sold.sg is the market leader in the penny auction industry in Singapore. Products listed on the website are brand new and consists of tech gadgets like the iPhone 4S and Kindle, lifestyle products and more. Site visitors bid by purchasing tokens and using them.
