Powered by WP Greet Box Last year Nov, when Oracle restructured the pricing of MySQL support packages after acquiring it from Sun Microsystems, elevated the bill to go premium, there was a big buzz surrounding the “Oracle trying to kill MySQL ” topic. However, I don’t think so , and so do many other industry experts. Last week, OMGUbuntu published an article titled “Java To Be Removed from Ubuntu, Uninstalled from User Machines ”, following through from Oracle’s decision to discontinue the Operating System Distributor License for Java (DLJ). Oracle, in retiring the ‘Operating System Distributor License for Java’, means Canonical no longer have permission to distribute the package.
