(Video) Canon EOS-1D C tested for its high-res 4K motion photography

Canon gave a bunch of photographers to test out their upcoming Canon EOS-1D C (releasing early next year 2013), showcasing the feasibility of motion capture (taking videos) and using specific frames as a photograph. This fundamentally changes the idea of photography – “Capturing the perfect moment” to “Capturing a length of moment and selecting the perfect moment”. With the 4k video capture capability, video becomes a powerful tool for photographers now. However, the captured frame will still be in jpeg/tiff format, not RAW, which requires the photographer to refine his fundamentals of photography – composition, lighting, white balance, shutter speed, aperture, iso, lenses, etc. The results? Just simply amazing production as taking a photo straight up, with better composition of the photo and its subject.
