Healthy Smoothie of the Week #37: Orange-Strawberry-Beet Smoothie Recipe

How do you get a fruit, vegetable and plenty of protein in your kid (or yourself for that matter) all by 8am? This Blood Orange Strawberry Beet Smoothie is one MAJOR way! It's not only gorgeous to look at, but irresistible to sip after sip after sip! I just handed over the Smoothie Project sheet to my kids (or use it for my own inspiration when I'm exhausted and need a few ideas) and come up with just this type of power meal. These are the types of foods that get your bodies engine running and sustain you for hours without feeling weighed down. One of the biggest questions I get is "do you add beets raw or cooked"? You can add them either way, but I prefer raw beets for for their bright color, mild taste and by keeping them raw getting those extra vitamins and nutrients.
