I’ve always liked Thai-style prawn cakes. For me, a good prawn cake must have a springy and light texture, and definitely a strong flavour of prawn, even though the cakes are usually a blend of different seafood, such as fish paste and squid paste. However, the prawn cakes, also known as Thod Man Goong, at Faiekham Restaurant really disappointed me. There were very little prawn flavours, and the cake was a bit too tough for my liking. It reminded me very much of the deep-fried fish cakes that you can get from our local economic bee hoon stalls.
