To the many fans of xiao long bao, it’s time to rejoice! Well-known for its small, delicate steamed soup-dumplings, Din Tai Fung decided to expand its dumpling selections. In addition to their original steamed pork dumplings, Din Tai Fung added the “limited edition” chilli crab, steamed angled gourd and shrimp xiao long bao as well as steamed fish dumplings. Making its once-a-year appearance is the chilli crab xiao long baos. Available from 1 July to 31 August 2011 at all Din Tai Fung outlets, these small pouches are stuffed with fresh crab meat and spicy chilli crab broth. The tasty and flavourful broth oozes out the moment you sink your teeth into it. Since it was introduced in 2007, these mouth-watering dumplings have had chilli crab lovers flocking to Din Tai to savour this Singaporean favourite.
