#Vietnam's first locally-owned maid cafe decorated for #Ghibli fans
Inspired by the Japanese maid cafes, Vietnam's first locally-owned and run maid cafe opened in March this year in Ho Chi Minh City. Named The Other Person, the bright and flowery maid cafe is located in an area outside of the main entertainment district that sees few foreign tourists. “We wanted to create a space where Vietnamese fans of Ghibli movies and anime in general could gather,” says the café’s owner, Gray. Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animation film studio best known for animes such as My Neighbour Totoro and Spirited Away. The lower floor of the two-storey café features girlish decor with dessert-themed furniture and has waitresses dressed in maid costumes. The loft is served by female staff members in butler uniforms.
