Xiao La Jiao at 112 Katong serves authentic Sichuan food

Flown all the way from Sichuan to Singapore, these chefs prepare authentic Sichuan food that will raise some fire in your tongue in a simple dining setting at reasonable prices. At a recent lunch tasting, I tried the following 1. Guo Tie - I found this to be a little dry. 2. Chuan Style Spicy Chicken (kou shui ji) - This famous chilled chicken dish from Sichuan 3. Sichuan Style boiled fish - I believe the pacific dory was used and in authentically Sichuan style the chili level is quite high. 4. Mala Mutton Noodles - This dish would do well in cold weather. The noodles, broth and meat are all thick and flavourful with a lamb after-taste 5. Claypot Eggplant - This is soul food, warm mushy with a thick base.
