China Whampoa Home Made Noodle – Very Shiok Dry Ban Mian with Chilli!
After 3 long months of renovation, Whampoa Market finally reopens. Unfortunately, I can no longer find the famous carrot cake which everyone was raving about. However, I finally got to try China Whampoa Home Made Noodle! We waited about 20 mins on a Saturday lunch. Not too bad actually, considering that some of my friends had waited about 1 hour previously. They make their noodles in small batches within the stall, and offers a good range of premium ingredients to go with it – fresh prawns, fish slices, clams or mock abalone. Here, you get a clear and light broth that is only cooked with ikan bilis and soya beans instead of pork bones. Unlike other ban mian stalls, no eggs were added.
