Following the closure of dining stalwart Au Jardin, the beautiful black and white bungalow located on the grounds of the Botanic Gardens has welcomed a new tenant. This new tenant looked to the annals of history for inspiration, choosing to anchor its name after E J H Corner, a foremost botanist who once upon a time resided in the very same building. Going by the name of Corner House, this new restaurant is split into two levels. The first houses a marble-clad bar and wine cellar boasting more than 600 labels (during our visit, the sommelier poured us an excellent 2011 Pontcin from Château-Grillet). The main dining hall is found on the second floor. If you're looking for a more intimate nook, ask for a table at the 'Whispering Corner' – a small verandah marked by a lush backdrop of greens.
