Gelato to die for
With the muggy weather we’ve been having, there is nothing like a gelato to save the day. Enter Alfero Gelato. Named after its owner Marco Alfero – who was born in Turin, Italy and has been in Singapore for three years– the gelati here is made from ingredients from Italy. The big difference is that you won’t be able to see gelati on display. Mr Alfero said he keeps his gelati covered because air and light will affect its quality. But his fastidiousness is well worth it. His gelati are creamy, full-bodied and very smooth. I have a few favourites and the pistachio is at the top of my list. The creamy taste of the nut – from Sicily – is suitable for the gelato. I also liked that it wasn’t too sweet. Also good are the mango and the passionfruit gelati.
