I remember the days when a curry puff was only 40 cents (now you can guess how old I am!). I used to buy them in this coffeeshop that was next to the Emporium in Toa Payoh each time I visited the Toa Payoh library. It was something I look forward to eating every time my library books were due to be returned. Of course, there are many different types of curry puff to choose from nowadays. And they are readily available at franchise outlets like Old Chang Kee all over the island. But somehow, I find myself eating Old Chang Kee curry puffs only when someone else buys them.
