There is rarely such a thing as instant gratification when it comes to yong tau foo because the unwritten rule is, no queue means no good. Perhaps more than any other hawker food, eating yong tau foo requires patience, a sense of good timing and some dumb luck, because while flexible meal times might result in a shorter wait in the line, there is just no telling when there will be a natural break in the constant flow of customers. At Yong Xiang Xin, however, chances are that unless you are near the head of the line, you are in for a wait of 30 minutes or more. In fact, if you are at the head of the line, chances are that you will have been there at least half an hour before opening time.
