published on Aug 29 2011 - 22:33 Skating’s been part of your life for so long. What was it about the ice that you fell in love with? Figure skating gave me many emotions when I was young and saw it on television. I’m still amazed at how beautiful it can be. For me it’s an unusual form of dance – gliding gracefully while dealing with difficulties of the elements at a powerful speed. [It is] just something people can’t do or repeat off the ice, [and] unique in the dance world. You’ve moved from sports skating to theatre skating. The change for me was huge. In the beginning I thought I would never be able to adjust to the space. Believe me, every skater feels the same. It was lovely to find out that it’s not a minus, but a plus.
