The Strange Library by Haruki Murakami Reviewed by Chan Pan Fong, Associate Librarian, Public Library Operations Have you ever been to a place and imagine things that might happen there? For me, the library is one of the places where I let my imagination run wild, and I especially have a penchant for surreal and supernatural events. I always imagined that doors marked “for staff only” led to somewhere secretive and mysterious. (At least before I joined the library. ) With that obsession in mind, this book by Haruki Murakami fits the bill. This story is part realistic and part surreal, not unlike Murakami’s other works.
