SSO will play host to Japanese double bassist Nakako Sano from the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra

Wednesday 10 October 2012, SINGAPORE – Come November, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) will play host to Japanese double bassist Nakako Sano from the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (TMSO) as part of an annual exchange programme. Ms Nakako Sano, 34, will arrive in Singapore on November 26, joining the SSO for five performances on November 30 (Alina Ibragimova ), and December 6 and 8 (Babies’ Proms 10th Anniversary Concert ). SSO bassoonist Christoph Wichert will represent Singapore in Tokyo from December 5 to 16, performing with the TMSO for four concerts during this period. Inaugurated in 2009, the exchange programme provides an excellent platform for SSO musicians to experience performing in Tokyo, one of the largest cities of the world and a major cultural centre in Asia.
