Giorgio Armani taught Princess Charlene how to dress As a competitive swimmer, Princess Charlene (née Wittstock)
The latest addition to Monaco's royal family - Princess Charlene, née Charlene Wittstock - has come a long way from her days as a competitive swimmer to becoming the wife of Monaco's Sovereign Prince, Albert II. As a swimsuit-clad athlete, she had little sense of fashion. That was until 2009 when Giorgio Armani chose her as ambassador for his haute couture line, and taught her to be more open with fashion and styles. As time passed, she also learnt that she looked the best with "clean, simple, elegant lines" because she has broad shoulders. Even the duchess satin wedding gown, encrusted with thousands of tiny crystals, which she wore to marry Prince Albert II on July 1, was made by the famed designer.
