Successful 3rd ASEAN Schools Games Come to a Close: After five days of competitions (2 - 6 July), the 3rd ASEAN

After five days of competitions (2 - 6 July), the 3rd ASEAN Schools Games (3rd ASG) came to a successful close today, as 1,400 student athletes and officials gathered for a warm and meaningful Closing Ceremony held at the Resorts World Sentosa (RWS). At the Games Closing Ceremony, Mr Hawazi Daipi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Manpower, handed over the ASG flag to Indonesia which will host the 4th ASG in 2012. Mr Hawazi praised the athletes for their sportsmanship and spirit of friendly competition, and for showing a confidence and maturity beyond their years. He said: “It has been a very successful Games, with many records broken. We can see that school sports in the region is maturing and going from strength to strength.
