Old KTM tracks may become a ‘green spine’ #Singapore

Old KTM tracks could be turned into some kind of 'green' development. (Yahoo!) The Ministry of National Development is studying ways to develop the old KTM railway tracks into a "green spine" for nature and leisure without compromising the area's development potential. In his blog , National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said on Saturday that the Urban Redevelopment Authority and the National Parks were working on the idea, and that Minister of State Tan Chuan Jin would lead the project. "He readily volunteered to work on this project and saw several useful angles: the green aspect, heritage and history, and innovative land use marrying development and conservation that is so characteristic of our city," Minister Khaw said.
