The PAP's 'Cooling-off' day is becoming a sick joke...

The new ‘Cooling-off’ day rule was introduced recently in the May election and will apply to the coming presidential election as well: A press statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday reads: “A cooling-off period where all campaigning must stop will be observed on the eve of Polling Day.” Candidates are also required to register their blogs and Facebook pages with MDA: “Internet content providers may be required to register their website/weblog with MDA if the site is deemed to be “providing any programme, for the propagation, promotion or discussion of political or religious issues relating to Singapore”. It is an irony that the PMO is still enforcing the ‘Cooling-off’ day ‘rule’ when it has turned a blind eye to its blatant flouting by controversial PAP newbie candidate Tin Pei Ling.
