Four arrested after national footballer is accused of assault

Four people were arrested for rioting in a case that has involved national footballer Khairul Amri. 24-year-old bar operations supervisor, Amri Shah, who made a police report after he was beaten up at the void deck of his Woodlands HDB home, pointed the finger at Amri and his family. Shah alleged that he suffered punches and kicks for five minutes by Amri's family for dating the footballer's wife, former beauty queen, Eva Roslan. The Straits Times reported that they are believed to be Amri's younger brother, father-in-law, brother-in-law and another unidentified person. While the 26-year-old striker has kept silent all this while, he finally sent a short SMS to the English daily: "I have already given the police a statement. I trust that they will be thorough."
