Commentary: The death of 'normal working hours'

Technology is progressing but our quality of working life is degrading. If the globalization leads us to this kind of working life, we must be courageous enough to say “NO” to it. Don’t get me wrong, I have been globalized since 1982 when the word of “globalization” was not even coined yet. I was trained as a young engineer in the then West Germany. I have worked for the German company who had trained me for the next 20 years. I have travelled all over the world for business and at one time stationed in China for five years. And when enough is enough I called it quit. Quote “As an employer, I am not interested in the number of hours someone puts in. All I care about is whether they use their time productively and achieve the task or tasks I have set them.
