S$120000 penalty for buyer who cancelled wedding - Yahoo! Singapore Finance via @YahooFinance

When a government public housing scheme starts to dictate how a person live their lives, there is an apparent fundamental flaw in the system. Young people in Singapore today is in a difficult position. If they meet someone they like, should they wait a bit for the relationship to stablise before they apply for a flat....however it wl take 2 to 5 years to get a flat which means that if they really wanted to get married, they will have to live with their parents which may put avoidable stress on the couple especially if the parents do not particularly like the spouse. This is adding to the higher divorce rate. It is also no wonder that young people nowadays would think 3 times before they seriously think about marriage which also has a longer effect of lower childbirth rate....it is all linked. I would do same if I am in their position. Having all these hurdles just doesn't ...
