Many thanks to WP for stepping forward to bring up this suggestion, which I personally feel is great and I totally concur. Seriously, if one justifies a tariff hike to break even and forgo profits, then I can understand its rationale for public welfare services (incl public transport). But if the motive behind hiking the tariffs is meant to maintain profit margins so that the company can continue to disburse astronomical bonuses to its management staff then I really don't see the need to burden this upon the citizens. There are two observations I made as a commuter. First, whether or not there was any oil price hike, fees are increased in any case. Second, the increase in fees do not translate into better, acceptable service for commuters.
