In-flight nightmare: #HongKongAirlines jet has wing patched with duct tape

Don't worry soo much.. What you see there is a high-speed tape commonly used in the aviation industry when they have a temporary repair done on the exterior of the plane.. Any repair done on the plane follows a very stringent guideline laid out by the manufacture of the plane and the authority (e.g. Boeing & FAA).. If the spoiler has a puncture that big is a definitely a no-go item. Basically that spoiler is made up of composite material and a puncture through the core that big would really affect the intergrity of the structure.. What i suspect is that its just a minor damage to a few layer of the fibre and they probably has cover up that layer with a special adhesive compound before covering it up with the high-speed tape.. No harm done, probably affect the performance of the plane resulting to higher consumption of fuel but its all calculated.. :)
