Delta cities face rising flood risk

New York, London, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta are just four of the dozens of cities on this planet that are vulnerable to rising sea levels. The very risk of being exposed to extreme floods has made these delta cities all the more determined to share their knowledge in adapting to climate change. The iconic stainless steel structures of the Thames Barrier have featured prominently in films - serving as the backdrop for James Bond's The World Is Not Enough and more recently the disaster movie called 'Flood'. In fact it was one of Britain's biggest peace time disasters that became the catalyst for the construction of the Thames Barrier.
