Europol task force to investigate non-Islamist threats in Scandinavia

LONDON - In the wake of the attacks in Norway, the European police agency is setting up a task force of more than 50 experts to help investigate non-Islamist threats in Scandinavia. Europol spokesman Soeren Pedersen said the group, based in The Hague, hopes to help Norway and other countries such as Denmark, Finland and Sweden in assessing non-Islamist threats. Norway has yet to request for forensic experts but Europol stands ready to assist, Mr Pedersen said. The death toll in Norway's bomb and gun attacks rose to 93 from 92 after one injured person died in hospital Sunday, public broadcaster NRK said. Friday's violence was the country's worst since World War II and among the deadliest-ever attacks by a lone gunman.
