Chinese search giant Baidu reports quarterly profit up 95 percent

Baidu, which operates China's dominant search engine, says its latest quarterly profit jumped 95 per cent on strong traffic growth. -- PHOTO: REUTERS BEIJING - Baidu, which operates China's dominant search engine, says its latest quarterly profit jumped 95 per cent on strong traffic growth. The company said on Tuesday its profit for the three months ending in June was US$252.6 million (S$305 million). It said total revenue rose 78.4 per cent. Baidu also saw higher spending by large advertising customers for the increase in earnings. -- AP
