Even as PAP-endorsed presidential candidate Dr Tony Tan put up a feeble defence of his pro-foreigner education policies, the PAP regime continues to splurge precious taxpayers’ monies on foreigners at the expense of Singaporeans. A Vietnamese newspaper VOV News reported yesterday that the Singapore embassy in Vietnam has given scholarships worth a total of US$702,000 or more than S$1 million dollars to six students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The students will fly to Singapore from July 27 to follow three or four-year academic programmes at the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Singapore Management University (SMU). The full scholarships are provided by the Singapore Government. Each student will receive US$117,000, which includes school fees, a return plane ticket and daily living expenses.
