Contracts awarded for 3 new Downtown Line stations - Straits Times Singapore #teamfollowback
Three contracts were awarded yesterday to build stations on the new Downtown Line. -- ST PHOTO: AZIZ HUSSIN THREE contracts were awarded yesterday to build stations on the new Downtown Line. Worth about $582 million between them, they are for Tampines, Tampines East and River Valley. Singapore firm KTC Civil Engineering & Construction won the $118 million contract to build Tampines station. Korean contractor GS Engineering & Construction will construct Tampines East for $208.5 million and River Valley for $255 million. Building work on all three stations will start this month, and they are due to be finished by 2017. Tampines station will be an interchange with the existing East-West Line Tampines station, and serve as a Civil Defence shelter. Read the full story in Wednesday's edition of The Straits Times.
