Here's a suggestion from our reader: Install travelators between MRT lines. Good idea?
THE distance between the platforms of the East-West Line and the North-East Line is almost three-quarters of a kilometre and is tiring for senior citizens who are increasing in numbers as our society ages. Would the authorities install travelators in both directions as the width of the walkway could easily accommodate them? This would also shorten the walking time and reduce the congestion there as well. While on this topic, I lend my support to Mr Ken Koh's call ("Let's focus on love and kindness"; July 12) to have special sections in the trains for seniors and pregnant women.
