Tuas Power to help SMEs cut energy costs

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) stand to benefit from a new green initiative aimed at helping them shave up to 80 per cent off their monthly electricity bills. The programme, called Lighting Solutions, is offered by Tuas Power Generation and hopes to help SMEs lower the consumption of electricity to light commercial offices, hotels and retail outlets. It is an extension of the Tuas Power Green Programme, which was launched in 2007 to encourage larger companies with monthly energy- consumption bills above $80,000 to switch to green energy solutions through subsidies. As part of the Lighting Solutions programme, Tuas Power Generation said it will provide free audits on lighting systems and their usage patterns at the premises of such enterprises.
