Good news for heritage, culture buffs: Free admission to seven museums next month to celebrate National Day

SINGAPORE - The National Heritage Board (NHB) is offering Singaporeans and Permanent Residents free admission to all Permanent Galleries at its seven museums next month to celebrate National Day. Announcing this during the finale of HeritageFest last night, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Yaacob Ibrahim said this would be "a great opportunity" for Singaporeans to find out more about the Republic's diverse heritage and culture at the national museums. The NHB is also granting all visitors free admission to its museums on National Day and Hari Raya Puasa. The Board will also see a new chairman. The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts has appointed Mr Ong Yew Huat as chairman for a two-year term beginning on Monday.
