Bowers, the country's top college prospect three seasons ago, is considered by some the top available player in the NFL draft. Bowers knows he'll have some competition for the top spot, especially from Auburn defensive end Nick Fairley. But Bowers pledged to work as hard as he has the past year to justify his high selection. Bowers spoke publicly Saturday for the first time since giving up his senior season to turn pro last week. Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck was the consensus No. 1 pro pick after this fall.
