Investing in education to prepare kids for competition

That investment has already reaped benefits as Singaporeans perform well in international rankings. But they cannot rest on their laurels. 'You must get used to this idea that while you are at the top or near the top, there will always be others who will compete with you,' he told 575 bursary recipients at an awards ceremony at the Toa Payoh Central Amphitheatre. 'The Government will continue to invest heavily in education and prepare our students for such competition in life. The competition will be tough, so let's get going.'
