[CNA] New centre at TTSH to save cost and time for patients

SINGAPORE: Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) has expanded its services to reduce cost and time for patients. Patients admitted to the Emergency Department at TTSH for serious but stable conditions can now be discharged within 24 hours. Previously, they may be hospitalised for about four days or more. The hospital said its new, expanded medical services can also help patients save between S$60 and S$300. Previously, patients' treatment bills could come up to more than S$500, depending in their conditions. Launched by Singapore's Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan, TTSH's new Emergency Diagnostic and Therapeutic Centre offers focused treatment for 18 acute conditions, including asthma, heart failure and pneumonia. The centre uses standardised protocols across various medical disciplines to treat patients. For elderly patients, doctors will also screen for ailments other than those fo...
